About. Our Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) Team provides valuable, real-world experience in investment management including economic research, equity and fixed income analysis, fund analysis, and asset allocation. The SMIF Team participates in the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Orange County Foundation (CFAOCF) annual portfolio management Request for Proposal (RFP) competition as well as its Investment Research Challenge (IRC).
Our team is centered around four core values: Commitment, Integrity, Teamwork, & Learning all of which work to prepare students with real world experience and technical skills for competitive careers in finance. Our selective team is comprised of a small group of students who work and learn diligently throughout the year in preparation for the annual RFP competition, which takes place in Fall. Professor Todd Richey of the Paul Merage Business School serves as an advisor to the team and often guides discussion as we build our portfolio. |
